I took this picture from the north end of the Adams and Wabash El platform while I waited for my train after class. It is amazing how the city can be both so noisy and so quiet in the night. Walk to the far end of the platform, and there are suddenly no people around and there is a stillness in the air separates you from the noise of the streets below. Life goes on below as people wait for ride and have private conversations on their cell phones, but look up into the night, or out along the tracks and they disappear, their voices mere whispers in the night.
